20th Century Women examines the changing experiences of women during the last century with emphasis on our local region. From social and political awareness of women who fought for the vote, served in the armed forces, nursing, in particular midwifery, equal rights in the workplace. Objects displayed reflect office & shop work, munitions factory work, domestic service and in the home, political office, sport and leisure opportunities etc.
